Planting Beans and Theater
Arruma, Maveli and Bige
Today, we planted beans not only because we love eating beans, but also because the plant gives nitrogen to the soil. In this way, the soil gets more nutrient rich, and future production is more efficient.
The children planted more than 300 beans today!
We also did equine therapy and had the pleasure of having an acting teacher from Colombia here with us. Carlos showed the kids the basics of acting using games.
We really enjoyed today!

Capoeira and Acting Lessons
Billie playing Capoeira
Capoeira lessons were taught to both children and parents by our good friend from Senegal, Bamba.
The children really enjoyed learning the movements - a mix of dance, martial arts and yoga. We practiced Capoeira and made music on the beach.
Early this week we had a Temazcal - Sweatlodge for chldren, that ended with
Brownies and passion fruit juice for everybody. It was a very beautiful week.

Bees N Worms
This week we had the pleasure of teaching the children the valuable company
of bees and worms. As you know the bees are so important for the polinization of all flowers. Flowers are the reproductive organs of the majority of plants in the world. Without bees many ecosystems would be severely damaged or cease to exist.
Worms help soil breathe, and they also produce compost in big quantities, giving us the potential to treat damaged soils and transform them into paradises for microorganisms to live. They help to control plagues, decompose minerals and give nutrition to the plants.
We rode horses and climbed hills. As always, so much fun!
This Sunday is the birthday of one of our little visitors; all of the children are going to eat cakes, play with the piñata and dance. There will also be a puppet theater which will use to teach kids fun facts about permaculture.
